Camus Pere & Fils, Cote de Nuits, Charmes-Chambertin, Grand Cru 2010

Grape(s)       :  Pinot Noir

Description  :

"There is enough reduction present to warrant decanting this if you're tempted to try a bottle young because while it doesn't completely dominate the dark currant and earth aromas, it does render them harder to appreciate. Otherwise there is good vibrancy to the well-detailed middle weight flavors that possess acceptable mid-palate concentration before culminating in an ever-so-mildly bitter finish. This is a wine that would clearly benefit from the proper dish to buffer the bitterness that will probably largely if not completely dissipate with time as the tannins resolve. At the moment though, between the reduction on the nose and the slight astringency of the finish, it would be fair to describe this as awkward and I have my doubts as to whether it will ever completely harmonize." -AM'88
